DAVID HICKEY Obituary

Hickey, David 90, a resident of Chelmsford for over 50 years, passed away peacefully on Sunday Sept. 13, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Ann (Hegarty) Hickey. He was born in Cambridge on July 25, 1925 and was a son of the late John and Margaret (Finn) Hickey. Following college, David worked for many years as a salesman for Gerrity Lumber, Co. He later worked for Lowell Lumber, Co. until his retirement. Mr. Hickey enjoyed trips to the beach and listening to Irish music, although his greatest joy came from being in the company of his cherished family. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary Parish in Chelmsford. In addition to his loving wife, David is survived by his children; Marie Hickey of Chelmsford, Kathleen Johnson of Albany, NY, David Hickey and his wife Cathleen of Portsmouth, RI and John Hickey and his wife Lisa of Palmetto, FL, his siblings; John Hickey, Mary Galvin, Margaret Madden, Anne Madden and Theresa McClenathon, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Celine Rich. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Blake Funeral Home, 24 Worthen St., CHELMSFORD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 11 o'clock at St. Mary Parish, 25 North Rd., Chelmsford. Interment in Pine Ridge Cemetery. To the Hickey family,
Sorry for your loss, I worked with Dave in the 8o's at Lowell Lumber, Dave was easy going and fun to work with, he knew the business well and I learned a lot from him, a real good guy with a great sense of humor. My condolences to all of you.
