DAVID ARTHUR MCKAY

McKAY, David Arthur Age 70, of Beverly, MA and Wellfleet, MA died suddenly on October 31, 2021. Beloved husband of Marjory Robertson and cherished father of Megan Fischbeck and her husband Kevin, and of Andrew and Katherine McKay. Loving grandfather of Keira, Lily, Elenna and Liam Fischbeck. Also survived by his sister Deborah McKay and brother James McKay and his wife Joan Offner. David was predeceased by his mother Ann and father Arthur. David will be best remembered for his warm heart, welcoming demeanor, love of story-telling and conversation, and fierce pride in his children and grandchildren. David also inspired so many with his brave and enthusiastic desire to stay active and adventurous notwithstanding his struggles with Multiple Sclerosis. Diagnosed originally in 1991, David handled the gradually debilitating effect of his illness with courage and humor. David was a graduate of Boston College Law School, Brown University, and Hamilton College, and was a proud partner of Ropes & Gray where he practiced law for nearly 30 years until M.S. required an early retirement in 2014. In his retirement, David enjoyed teaching a course on corporate finance as an adjunct professor at B.C. Law School. Gregarious and caring, David touched the lives of many who have drawn inspiration from his indefatigable resilience in the face of multiple health challenges. David was very active in the life and choir of Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham, a much-loved spiritual home that brought him great comfort and joy over the years. David will be missed by all. Visiting Hours will be held in the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, BEVERLY on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 from 4 to 7 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church of Hamilton and Wenham, 149 Asbury Street, South Hamilton, MA 01982 on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a reception. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
