Swampscott - John Michael Alleruzzo, 82, a lifelong resident of Swampscott, passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home. Born on July 19, 1943, he was the son of the late Orazio and Palmer (Mattera) Alleruzzo, and beloved husband of Kathy Alleruzzo.
John was raised and educated in Swampscott, attended North Shore Community College in Beverly, proudly served the Massachusetts National Guard and worked at the Salem Armory. In his youth, John spent countless hours at Phillips Park, where he played football and his favorite game of all, stickball, with his closest friends. He often reminisced about those carefree days, sharing stories that brought him joy well into his later years. John worked as a civilian with the Massachusetts National Guard as an administrative technician happily retiring after 30 years of service. John cherished time spent with his family, especially summer vacations and trips to New Hampshire and Maine. He had great love for amateur photography, taking countless photos of his family. He enjoyed music from the 1950s and the big band era and was a devoted Red Sox fan.
John will be dearly missed and is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen (Faulstick) Alleruzzo of Swampscott; his loving daughter, Andrea Taylor, and her husband, Adam, of Beverly; and his cherished grandson, Henry Taylor.
Service Information: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm at Solimine Funeral Home, 67 Ocean Street (Rt. 1A) Lynn. A funeral service will take place at 12 pm in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Swampscott Cemetery.
