Barbara Miller Obituary

Visit the Forest Lawn Funeral Home & Memorial Park website to view the full obituary.
Barbara Ann Noble Miller, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed peacefully on March 23, 2026, at Life Care Center of Hendersonville, surrounded by her loving family. Born on December 12, 1942, in Clark County, Indiana, Barbara lived a full and vibrant life, reaching the age of 83.

Barbara's life was marked by dedication to her family, community, and passions. She worked as an administrative assistant at First Baptist Church Hendersonville, where she was not only a committed employee but also a dedicated member of the congregation. Her love for animals led her to serve as a docent with the Providence Zoo, and her compassionate spirit found expression through her volunteer work with Hospice during her years in Rhode Island.

An attendee of both Franklin College in Indiana and Brown University in Rhode Island, Barbara cherished education and learning. Her interests were as diverse as they were meaningful; she was a phenomenal cook and baker, whose culinary creations delighted family and friends. She had a profound love for animals, especially dogs, and took great joy in working in her yard, cultivating beauty and tranquility around her home.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, John Ralph and Ollie Aline Lewis Noble, as well as her sister, Margaret Cislak, and brother-in-law, Peter Cislak. She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Charles Parker Miller; her sons, Jeff Cooper and his wife Tina, and Brad Cooper and his wife Kris; her step-children, Robin Canavan and her husband Bob, Kristen Lasorsa and her husband Richard, and Carol Larsen and her husband Butch; and her daughter-in-law, Kiki Cooper. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren, Parker Cooper and his wife Abbie, Christian Cooper, Karis Cooper, Micah Cooper, Joshua Cooper, and Caleb Cooper, as well as her step-grandchildren, Courtney Pimenta, Gabriella Lasorsa, and Olivia Lasorsa. She also leaves behind a host of close, special friends who will miss her dearly.

A celebration of Barbara's life will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, April 26, 2026, at First Baptist Church Hendersonville, where those who knew and loved her can gather to honor her memory.

The family will receive friends from 1:30 - 3:00 PM Sunday at the church, prior to the services.

Flowers are accepted and appreciated, and Flowers by Larry would be honored to assist with orders. Or, memorial donations may be made to the Pardee Cancer Center Breast Surgery, 805 6th Avenue West, #100, Hendersonville, NC 28739, or by clicking HERE.

Barbara's warmth, kindness, and unwavering love for her family and community will be cherished and remembered by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
