DAVIS WOO Obituary

WOO, Davis Davis "Babay" Woo passed away on September 18, 2017, at the age of 86. Born on June 24, 1931 in Charleston, West Virginia, Davis was raised by his parents, Matthew Jan and Loo Shee Woo, along with his eight siblings. Davis married his wife, the late Susan Woo, in 1955 and together they raised their family of four in West Roxbury, MA. Davis served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and later received his Master's Degree in Chemical Engineering at MIT. Davis was also a member of the Boston Chinese Freemasons. Davis loved collecting stamps, watching movies, and attending family gatherings. His greatest love was the annual Woo family vacation to Disney World, a tradition that continued through May of 2017, when he was able to make one last trip to the Magic Kingdom. Davis is survived by his son Ted and his wife Sherry, his daughter Kathy and her husband Ed, his son Dan and his wife Betty, and his daughter Christine, as well as his six grandchildren, Christian, Ariel, Alex, Samantha, Brittany, and Danica. Dear Ted, Kathy, Dan and Chrissy and your entire Woo extended family. Our deepest condolences to you all at the loss of Mr. Davis Woo, a beloved man who was a great husband, father, and friend.
He will be missed of course, and his love for his family will continue in your hearts and memories.
He gave a lot to his Chinatown community and its many civic and social agencies for many years and gave his savvy and leadership skills for the betterment of all.
I will remember his wicked sense of humor and how much he like to laugh and joke around. A man of many accomplishments, he saved his best to provide for the great Woo family of his children and grandchildren.
He was an uncommon commoner, he remembered his roots, and gave us a lot of good times. Rest in peace Davis, and God bless you.

Dear Teddy: I like that you added information about the last trip to Disney. I really think the Disney Corporation should construct a monument in his liking. I so enjoy your stories about your Dad; what a character he was! Just wait, the memories will give you so much comfort. Take care kid.

Love you Babay ❤

Kathryn I am so sorry for the loss of your Dad. I loved seeing all the pictures from your last Disney trip - It was easy to see how proud he was of his family. I never met him but feel fortunate to finally run into you at Lowes and make our friendship more than the facebook one we had. No doubt your parents were the best of the best seeing how beautiful of a person you are. Sending lots of hugs and prayers your way. xoxo
