Dean-Daniel Truog Obituary

66, died October 27, 2004 at his home in Swampscott, of pancreatic cancer. Dean devoted his career to mentoring people, from college students to members of the U.S. Congress and other leaders, to help them build life skills based on Christian principles. Dean Truog is survived by his wife, Dorothy Truog, their son, David Truog, his wife Gina, and their children, Robert (3) and Katherine (1), as well as their daughter, Denise Thomas, her husband Kabin, and their children, Olivia (8) and Kabin Andrew (4). A Memorial Service will be held Monday November 8th at 10:00 a.m. in Story Chapel at Mount Auburn Cemetery, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts at 580 Mount Auburn Street. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend this service. Dean asked that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made in support of the work of Rick and Debbie Yorgey. The Yorgeys devoted their lives to the same purpose as Dean did but with a focus on the urban African-American community in Washington, DC, a calling that Dean believed in passionately. Donation checks may be made out to The Navigators, marked for Rick and Debbie Yorgey, and sent to P.O. Box 6000, Colorado Springs, CO 80934.

I met Dean at Glen Eyrie in the sumner of 1962. He taught me many spiritual things by example. He showed me how to share the Gospel effectively. I have led many using his example. I will miss him. See you in Heaven, my friend. God Bless Dottie
