I worked with Dean for many years at Travelers and did volunteer work with him at the Immaculate Conception Shelter in Hartford. He always amazed me at how devoted he was to his religion and to serving those in need. I truly believe he has earned his special place in heaven. My sympathy to his family. Please know that there are many of us who share your loss.

To Kris and her Family my deepest condolences on the lose of your father. I've worked with Kris for a number of years at The Hartford and many times she has told me about her father. Kris and family members always remember those wonderful memories of your Father and Grandfather that you will cherish the rest of your lives.

Dear Ockerbloom family,
I am so sorry to learn about the passing of Dean. I am a colleague of Steven's whom I admire tremendously. Even though I did not have the pleasure of meeting this wonderful man, I am sure that you, Steve, made him so proud. I can only hope that my own sons turn out to be as terrific as you are. My thoughts are with all of you at this very sad time.
My best to you all,
Dee LaMay

To Marianne, Chris, John and Steve,
I remember fondly the friendship my husband and I had with your family, dating back to the time when we all lived in Granby. We moved to Avon as our family grew, and were amazed to find that our friends the Ockerblooms had bought a house down the street from us! We remained friends through the years and will always remember the good times.
Affectionately,
Lois Oelrich

During my 26 years as an attorney for The Travelers, I had occasion to work with Dean on a number of company matters. Dean was always professional, but cordial, and happy to assist by sharing his considerable insurance expertise and experience.
I send my sincere condolences to the entire family with the hope that Dean may now rest in peace.

To Dean's Family, Dean was one of the very first employees I met 34 years ago here at The Travelers - we had a wonderful working friendship and kept in touch after his retirement. Dean was the most selfless and generous man I had the honor of knowing - I learned a great deal about compassion, patience and volunteerism from him. After he retired, Dean and I went to lunch together several times - those times were spent talking about everything from art, history, religion and his fond memories of working at The Travelers - those times will remain very precious memories for me. I know God has a special place reserved in Heaven for Dean. I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers during the sad days ahead and hope that loving memories will help give you strength.
