Dennis McDONOUGH Obituary

McDONOUGH, Dennis "Deacon" Of South Boston and Dorchester, passed on Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Marian Manor, South Boston. Son of the late Coleman and Dorothy (Holland) McDonough. Preceded in death by three of his sisters, Dolly Stangel, Joanne Joyce and Mary McDonough. Survived by his sister, Betty Durant of Orange City, FL, his brothers, Joe McDonough of Dorchester & Dave McDonough of Humarock & Ft. Pierce, FL. Also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives & friends. Visiting Hours will be held at The Casper Funeral Home, 187 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, on Friday, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Brigid's Church, Saturday, at 10:00 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury. He attended Boston Public Schools & was a proud retired member of local 800 of the ILA. He was an avid sports fan and played football in the Boston Park league for the Dorchester Lyons Club & helped coach Eddie's Football Giants. Dennis was a man of few words but he was well loved & respected. Donations may be made in his memory to How House, 41 Van Winkle St., Dorchester, MA 02124.
