I am Alfonso Farina from Roma in Italy. I have been gifted by the IEEE Dennis Picard medal of 2010. Such a great honor for me together with the chance to meet Dr. Picard in person in Boston at the Radar Conference and have a photograph with Him. Dennis is in my good memories and in my evening prayers.
Blessing Dennis Family and hope for the very best in this difficult period for Humanity. Ciao, Alfonso.

Please forgive this late response. I am one of many who worked at Raytheon during Dennis's long and very successful tenure there. He was a strong leader, to put it mildly. Only recently did I learn of his absolutely key role in the Patriot air defense system, in a talk by radar legend Eli Brookner. Like thousands of others, I worked to get all the kinks out of this system and at one point in my career, the office wallpaper consisted of drawings of the engagement control center, the radar, and the launcher.

His contributions to the Discovery Museum in Acton also were not widely known. They were immense, especially in the earlier, fragile years.

Thank you, Mr. Picard, for all you have done and given to others.

He was a wonderful leader during the best days of Raytheon Company. Sincere condolences to family and friends.

I am Alfonso Farina from Rome in Italy. I have had the honor to receive the IEEE Dennis Picard medal in 2010. During the IEEE Honor Ceremony in Montreal, Dr. Picard was so kind to send a letter of congratulation to me. The President of IEEE read the letter during the ceremony. I was deeply touched by this kind gesture and I expressed my gratitude and great esteem to Dr. Picard as an outstanding engineer, innovator, such a top manager and a very fine man. I had the honor to meet him in person in Boston at the IEEE Phased Array symposium of 2010, and have a photograph with him, which I keep precious.
I have the medal in my study room at home and I regard it as a milestone of my professional career. I am so grateful to Dennis.
The Lord bless Dennis and all his dears.
Ciao,
Alfonso.
