PURDY, Douglas Carlton 73, of Scituate, moved on to his next adventure on May 25, 2016. His gregarious wit and generous spirit will be truly missed by all who knew him. Devoted husband of 49 years to Sherry (Tower). Loving father of Court Purdy and his wife Kathy of Newport Beach, CA, Joselyn Purdy of San Diego, CA and the late Matthew Purdy. Beloved brother of Bruce Purdy and his partner Barrett Shepard of Palm Springs, CA. Cherished grandfather of Aidan and Caitlin Purdy. Doug was born in Quincy to William and Elizabeth Purdy and grew-up in Weymouth. He was graduated of Weymouth High School, Drury College and Suffolk University. Doug was a practicing attorney in commercial and real estate transactions up until last week and was a partner with Serafini, Purdy, DiNardo & Wells in Quincy for many years before becoming "of counsel" with Baker, Braverman & Bardoro, P.C. Doug loved golf, music, the woods, the beach, cards with his friends, reading, gardening and a cold beer. A celebration of life service will be on Tuesday, May 31st at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, SCITUATE from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, 465 First Parish Rd, Scituate on Wed., June 1st at 11AM. Reception to follow. Dear Sherry,
Ral and I were so sad to hear of Doug's passing. We remember when you came to visit us in Lake Arrowhead and how much fun we had. I always enjoyed seeing you and Doug when I visited Mary Ann and Joe in Scituate. Doug was a dear friend to both of them and they are so sad that he is gone. Our thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. He will definitely be missed.
