Edith Meyer Obituary

Of Goshen, N.H. Known to friends and family as Pen, was born in Boston, MA on July 4, 1949. She graduated from the Pingree School in 1968, coming to the New London area to attend Colby Junior College, graduated in 1970 with a Liberal Arts Degree, and has been a valued member of the community ever since. Pen was an accomplished fiber artist and familiar face at the Norwich Farmers Market, where she also served on the Board of Directors. She was also an active environmentalist and a great lover of the outdoors. She was a member of the Friends of Mt. Sunapee as well as the Appalachian Mountain Club. Pen was an avid and gifted gardener whose passion for color was apparent both in her textiles and the flowers that surround her house. Pen is survived by a son, Justin Meyer Campbell and wife Brandi Campbell of New Boston, NH; daughter, Kira Meyer Campbell and husband Aaron Dotter of Grantham, NH; daughter Hayley Knight Campbell of New Boston, NH; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Henry H. Meyer, Jr. of Boston, MA; siblings, Henry H. Meyer, III of South Kingstown, RI, Anne Meyer Teague of Woody Creek, CO, Heather Meyer of Wakefield, RI, Diana Hodges Meyer Parker of Southport, CT, Daphne Bul Wales of Narragansett, RI, Jenny Murphy of MA, Tim Meyer of Wilton, CT, Matthew Meyer of South Kingstown, RI, Jessie Meyer-Eisendrath of Matunuck, RI, James Meyer of Wakefield, RI; and her beloved canine hiking companion, Anise Hyssop. A memorial service will be held at The First Baptist Church of New London, NH on Friday, March 18, 2005 at 1:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Society for the Protection of NH Forests, 54 Portsmouth Street, Concord, NH 03301; The Friends of Mt. Sunapee, P.O. Box 199, Georges Mills, NH 03751 or The Pingree School, 537 Highland Avenue, South Hamilton, MA 01936. Chadwick Funeral Service of New London, NH is in charge of arrangements.

With humor, compassion, love and admiration, and regret, your family eloquently remembered Pen. I know how difficult this was, but in sharing your memories, you have kept Pen alive in our hearts. You all did a wonderful job of celebrating her passionate life.
