I have been thinking about you more and more everyday. To Eileen's family, My best memories of St. Ambrose Parish always include Eileen and John. What happy days we had together; especially singing and lauging with your many friends. One year is such a tiny speck of time -- but eternity awaits us all where we will meet our beloved ones. Eileen and my own dearest husband, Richard, are enjoying their heavenly reward. Rejoice in their glory.

John, my words will never be enough to express the love and admirations I have for Eileen and your family. She was a light of Christ, sharing her generous, caring ways, Irish humor and lilting voice. This week someone very close to me told me that you never really get over losing your grandmother- that she could still weep for her Grandma today- but I did not lose my Grandma. I lost my Mameo. It seems most everyone has a Grandma or a Grammy, few have a Nana or a GG, but I was fortunate and blessed to have a Mameo.
Mameo was a woman of God who was always so kind, loving, and honest. One of my favorite memories of Mameo demonstrates just that. I was about six years old- she had taken me to
St. Ambrose Church where I was mesmerized by her singing the gospel songs. I greatly admired my Mameo and wanted to impress her with my own singing. I had the best idea: I would steal the song book from church this week and memorize the songs for the next Mass. The next week when Ma found out I had stolen the book, after having a good laugh she marched me right up to Father Finn to admit my theft and confess my sin!
Aside from our time at church, I often spent my time after school and on weekends with Ma. A day with Mameo usually involved feasts of M&M ice cream, soda bread, tea, donuts and any other goodies she stocked up for us. We would all pile up into her bed- the best days were when Meghan, Michael, Danielle, my three brothers, and I were all snuggled up with Mameo watching ghost hunters or untold stories of the ER- and of course, All My Children.
Mameo I will long for the days I spent snuggled up next to you watching our shows, talking about God, singing Peggy Lettermore, and attempting to teach me Gaelic. My heart is broken that tomorrow you won't be here with me- but "a heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved".
I love you to heaven and back.

i always feel so proud when someone gives me a complement about what a nice guy I am, or that I am a hard worker, and especially when they say that I have such nice children.
I owe it all to you my loving mother. You taught me how to be a compassionate unselfish man.Without your wisdom and love I would not be half the man I am today. I will miss you every day, for all the days left of my life.

I was just saying I don't know where to begin as there are so many treasured memories Eileen I can remember being a kid and going to religious places with you my mom And Barney. And endless nights watching you and mostly my Johnny winning at cards. ( I can just hear you giving out about that). I remember you asking me to be Patrick's Godmother We both knew what an angel he was. To you singing at some of our friends weddings. And To you and My Johnny being in our wedding and you having our baby shower at your house. And to your TwentyFifth wedding anniversary thought I would never want to see another turkey and needless to say your comment to that. Or to you being our Theresa's godmother So many special times and memories and these are just a few I will miss you ever so much my friend. And Johnny the deepest and ever so sincere condolences.
