Tonight, I am saddened to hear of Elly's passing. She was my principal for many years at the Theodore Roosevelt School. As a new teacher, Ms. Maskell taught me so much about education. I was in awe of how she always knew just the right things to say or do in any situation. She even advised me to get an annuity which I still have today! Thank you, Elly! She insisted on mutual respect from students, teachers, and parents. She was so talented. She could make and do just about anything. I loved to watch her glide so gracefully across the dance floor at our Faculty Functions. I remember, especially, how Elly would light up when she danced, and also how she would peer over her glasses to make a point! She would regale her teachers with stories every day at lunchtime. She stood up for her teachers 100%. I shall always remember her. May she rest in peace, and may her family be comforted by their many wonderful memories.

Eleanor has blessed our lives. She danced with us for many years and was an inspiration to all of our students. We will miss her so. While this is 'a time to mourn', we're so happy that we had 'a time to dance'. May God's love and blessings be with Eleanor and her family.
