ELISBETH FROST Obituary

FROST, Dr. Elisbeth P. A breast imaging radiologist at the Brigham and Women's Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, died peacefully, at home in Brookline, on Sunday, September 28. Dr. Frost, known as Lisa, was devoted to her family, her patients, her medical colleagues, and to the staff who supported their work. She was an avid reader, and loved music, art, skiing, the mountains and lakes of New England, and her many, many friends. She lit up rooms with her kindness, intelligence, warmth and humor. Born in Morocco, Lisa grew up in Brookline, MA. She was the daughter of Thomas B. Frost and Evelyn K. Frost. She majored in Art History at Yale, after which she spent a year roaming South America. She was proud to have returned all the way from Tierra del Fuego to Miami, by only land and sea. Mostly settling down thereafter, Lisa completed pre-med studies at Bryn Mawr College and graduated from Harvard Medical School. After completing a medical residency at Beth Israel Medical Center, she joined the faculty there. She was recruited to the Brigham and Women's Hospital in 1999. Lisa was a gifted teacher. She loved sharing her expertise with students, residents, fellows and technologists: sharing not just the science of radiology, but, more importantly, the art of patient care. Lisa and her husband raised their sons on Pill Hill in Brookline. Walking to and from the hospital for work each day was a great joy to her. Lisa was diagnosed with glioblastoma in 2022. She received superb medical care for nearly three years from teams at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the Brigham and Women's Hospital. She confronted her diagnosis with grace and courage and she worked hard to recover. She was determined to live as fully as possible, despite her brain cancer. Skiing with her family in Colorado in March of 2024 was one of her proudest post-diagnosis accomplishments. Lisa is survived by her husband, Paul Zintl; her sons, Sam and Rob; her mother, Evie Frost; her sister and brother-in-law, Kitta Frost and Robert Parish; her sisters-in-law, Elsa Kloess and Amy Zintl; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held later this month. In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for donations in Lisa's honor to Partners In Health. www.pih.org Among Lisa's great joys was teaching breast radiology to clinicians at PIH-supported hospitals in Rwanda.
