ERIK STROMSTED

Stromsted, Erik
Of Pepperell, died peacefully at the age of 84, on October 7th following a stroke suffered this past July. He was born in New York City in 1929 to Alf and Astri (Reinholt) Stromsted. He is survived by his wife Barbara; his children Tina, Vera, Jules, Rick, Krys, Lili, Katie, Tami, Kari and Siri; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his first wife, Julia Pierrepont. He was predeceased by his brother Thor and his sister Vera. Following high school in Summit New Jersey and graduation from Harvard College in 1951, Erik served for four years as a Lieutenant J.G. in the U.S. Naval Reserve. He then pursued a long career in telecommunications, starting with Microwave Associates and ending with his own company, Microwave Advances. From an early age he was a ham radio enthusiast and ardent birder whose binoculars were usually within arm's reach. He was also a cofounder of the Nashoba Conservation Trust, taking an active role in land preservation. His family will cherish memories of his warmth, wit and infectious love of life.
