I originally came to Dr. Frank for a second opinion, on a prognosis by a specialist that would have led to one and possibly two corneal transplants. He did not agree that surgery was necessary, and this advice was very insightful and timely. In the 35 years that I was his patient, my eyesight has not drastically changed. I was very fortunate that our paths crossed, and after reading this guest book realize that many other people feel the same way about Dr. Frank. A person like this comes along only once in a lifetime, and he will be sorely missed.

Dear Jennie and the D'Ambrosio family,

I just heard about Frank's death and wanted to express my sincere thanks for all he and Jennie did for Birthright. I will never forget Jennie and Frank and how they always had a kind word for what we did in the office and how they were so supportive of the women and babies in need. We are still doing that work and I truly believe that there are many children who are now in their 20's because of your support and love. Just wanted you to know that I remember what a great example of a loving, Christ-like man Frank was. The world is a little darker without him. In peace and love -Kath King, regional director Birthright of MA

He was truly a special man and we will keep him and your family in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. Take comfort knowing that he is with His Lord now and forever at peace.

Dearest D'Ambrosio family,
I am so sad for you for the loss of your beloved husband, dad, grandfather, great grandfather and uncle. And I'm sad for me, too, for the loss of my beautiful friend. It's hard to imagine the world without Frank in it - his smile, his laugh, his humor, his spirituality, his generosity, his love.

It was always a treat for us when Frank, Jennie and the family came to Vail two or three times each year. Jennie's delicious Italian food combined with Frank's hilarious stories made for wonderful memories. And Don really loved skiing with the clan. They were a competitive bunch, and it was a challenge to keep up!! We were so fortunate, too, to have Frank officiate at two of our daughters' weddings in Vail.

Frank was an amazing man who led an amazing life. He was God's gift to all who knew him. He's with God now ... and I know that Don is happy to see him again, too.

With my love and prayers,

Austin DeVille

May he now rest in peace with Aunt Rose and those of the Staffiery and Nuzzo clan who have gone before us.

Dear Jennie, Nina and Family,

Our deepest sympathy to you all. David and I have known Frank for 42 and 35 years, respectively. To us, he was an incredible source of knowledge, ophthalomogically speaking, but more importantly, a great teacher and a better friend. It was such an honor to have him baptize our daughter and then to have you, Jennie, and our dear Dr. D. join us 22 years later at her college graduation party. Because of the Jewish heritage in his family, he made Ashley's baptism so meaningful to David's family. We will never forget that special day as we will never forget our last encounter at his wonderful retirement party. Our love and respect will follow him.

January 14, 2010

Dear D'Ambrosios -

Mary and Sarah Lawrence send our prayers and thoughts for you and all your extended family.

And, although Frank is out of view, like a balloon tied to a child's wrist, you still feel the tug of the string pulling.

Similar to when dad died in 2005, we still remember every laugh, every pipe he lit, every fun memory and every friend - like your dad/husband/grandfather.

Our thoughts to you for this very difficult time - but know that he's celebrating with dad, and that they're having fun together.

Sincerely and with love,

Sarah & Mary Lawrence (1521 Monument Street, Concord, MA)
