FRANK PIETROSKI Obituary

PIETROSKI, Frank Dennis Passed away on February 9, 2023 in the home he adored, surrounded by the people he loved. He was 85 years old. Frank was born and raised in Dorchester and took great pride in both his Irish heritage and his Maine Yankee roots. He knew the city of Boston inside and out and enjoyed sharing stories of growing up there. A hard worker all his life, Frank had a resume of childhood jobs that included helping his father deliver milk for Hood, cleaning up at Fenway Park after games, caddying at George Wright GC in Hyde Park, selling newspapers on the corner, shining shoes and setting pins at the bowling alley. As a young man, Frank pursued a career in real estate and became a respected and MAI designated appraiser, successfully establishing his own firm with offices throughout the region. Later, his interest in investment led him to his second career as a Financial Planner, which he continued for the remainder of his life. Frank had a tremendous love for the ocean. He grew up visiting his grandmother in Rockland, Maine, eating periwinkles from the rocks and establishing his lifelong love affair with lobster. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 years old and proudly served as a submariner onboard the USS Batfish. His time in the Navy provided exciting voyages around Key West, Cuba and South America. Eventually, Frank and his wife Judy bought their own sailboat and spent years exploring coastal New England with their family and friends. Frank pursued his passions wholeheartedly. Finding both adventure and tranquility in nature, he golfed, skied & sailed, farmed his property & flew in his own small plane. Never one to shy away from a storm, he would joyfully declare that he had "defied death and the elements once again!" He made the most of every day and was a wonderful husband and father. Frank had a deep appreciation for a good fish chowder, his wife's homemade pies and a crusty loaf of bread (with more butter!). He was happy smoking his cigar outside when the sun was shining and listening to the rain and the wind with a Jameson when a nor'easter blew. Frank frequently reminded us that "Life is not a dress rehearsal," and so, he lived his own life with great gusto and love. He is remembered lovingly by his wife Judith; children, Frank Pietroski, Jr., Sheryl & Rob Churchill, Scott & Kerrilee Pietroski and Eric Pietroski; dear friend Linda Cummings; sister Pauline Cavanaugh; and grandchildren, Robbie, Katherine & Alex Churchill, and Sophie & Scottie Pietroski. Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank B. & Catherine Shea Pietroski.
