Like so many others, I only knew Generosa from listening to WBZ. How I miss hearing her "Friday, Friday." I kept waiting for her return to the airwaves. Sadly, I tuned in to BZ last night just in time to hear of her passing; I don't listen since Steve left. I'm so sorry for your loss. How lucky you were to have her for 100 years. May she rest in peace.

Hi everyone. I found something on line I wanted to share with everyone, and I hope it's appropriate to share it here. I found an audio file of Generosa being interviewed from sometime in 2003.

She's telling a wonderful story about her younger days.

Again, I hope this appropriate to share here as I don't know a better place than here to honor her and remember her with her own words.

Generosa was wonderful. We knew it was the last day of the work week when she gave us the official "Friday Friday." Known only as a fellow WBZ listener, yet her love, energy and sweetness easily came through the radio. Generosa will be missed, our thoughts and prayers go out to her family. Celebrate her life.

Another WBZ friend offering sympathy to the family of a wonderful lady. Met Generosa once at the farm stand and talked to her once on the phone. She was a delight both times. I picture Carl, Dave, Larry, and other greeting her around an AM radio near the pearly gates looking forward to Friday, Friday! RIP Generosa.

To the Family of Generosa - Back in the Dave Maynard days Generosa was the "Mayor of Peabody", involved in all kinds of local activities and describing all details. There was a tone of authority in her voice, not a shrinking violet by any means. She lived a full life and I'm sure you all have great memories of this unique lady. I'm sure she's back directing activities in heaven! May she rest in peace!

My sincere sympathy to Generosa's family and friends. You were blessed with a treasure in your lives. She spread joy and optimism every Friday Friday and I set my alarm for 4 to be sure not to miss it. One fond memory? After a particularly long and bed spell of weather, she called in to WBZ and admitted her impatience with the weather. Later that day I told a friend, "Know how bad it is? Even Generose is ticked off." We both shared a hearty laugh, knowing, for once, our gloomy attitude was appropriate. R.I.P. Generosa.

I remember hearing Generosa as early as 1986.

I had called Dave Maynard's morning show, and, why I remember this, I don't know, but Generosa was the caller after me.

I always woke up when I heard "Friday Friday" on my radio.

Not to mention it was nice of Morgan White Jr. to let Generosa pick the winner of his trivia contests.

What a nice lady!!!!

Nothing else can be said!
