TO DEAR HARRIET AND FAMILY,
JUST RECEIVED THE VERY SAD NEWS OF THE PASSING OF GEORGE. HE WAS A WONDERFUL AND GAVE HELP TO HIS YOUNGER FRIENDS.
1 WAS EXTREMELY PLEASED WHEN HE INVITED ME TO JOIN THE LEGAL SEAFORD DISCUSSION GROUP.
IT IS SELDOM THAT ONE HAS THE CHANCE TO BE WITH A MAN LIKE GEORGE WHO WAS, ELEGANT, INTELLIGENT AND KIND.
MAY HIS MEMORY BE AN ETERNAL BLESSING.

George was a true gentlemen! I was a member of the Legal Board of Directors for a number of years in the eighties, and was always amazed at the empathy and respect he had for the people who staffed his restaurants.
He was also an industry leader in testing for harmful bacteria in fish purchased for his restaurants.
A thoughtful, kind and smart leader. He set a standard that made his restaurants amongst the best in the country!

How I liked the communal dinners at long tables that were covered with brown paper. We shared thoughts and conviviality with new strangers who sat next to us at long tables and benches. Those were the days when we felt like a family at dinner time. Thank you Mr. Berkowitz and family for those meals and those feelings that brought us to become a friendly group of dinners that were also hungry for human contact. You were a nice human being by being so friendly and kind to all of us. May you rest in peace.

Bob and I loved George and Harriet forever. George was smart, funny, interesting, knowledgeable, and a great friend. He was generous with his expertise at fish preparation as well as his knowledge of golf and his distribution of White Cards.

My sincere sympathy to Harriet, Roger and the Berkowitz family. I loved working for this family. I recall meeting George and Harriet at Copley Plaza and how engaged they were to get to know me and how happy I was to have the opportunity to be part of their restaurant family! He told me the story of legals from his eyes and how he treated me always stuck with me! Being greeted by him and Harriet with a hug every interaction we had in restaurants was so special and something I never forgot! Thank you for teaching me to be a kind, fair leader, and to pay attention to details! I still tell many of my LSF stories to this current day!

My favorite memory was celebrating a luncheon birthday in Chestnut Hill, with both my parents. George and Harriet walked in, it was as if we were back in Inman Sq.

My sincere sympathy to Harriet, Roger and the Berkowitz family. I loved working for this family. I recall a manager meeting where George addressed the group as he always did. He spoke about quality and how to treat people. It always stuck with me when he said, " it´s just as easy to be nice". He said how much more energy was expenses at not being nice. So true George. RIP
