My sincere sympathy to The Matthew's family.
George was a wonderful neighbor on Hickory Hill. When my son was young and for years following George hired my son to help him put his air conditioners in and out as well as other little jobs.
He hired him for shoveling even though the plow company did the shoveling. But most importantly Erik would come home and tell me all the wise advice George had given him. That lasted until Erik went to college!
I´ll always be grateful for the guidance and personal interest that George showed Erik .
What a wonderful man he was!
He´ll be deeply missed by so many!

George traveled in the stratoshere but his feet were always on the ground.
A man of many sayings, a favorite; "It's an imperfect world, we have to make the most of it".
He was a keen observer of human nature, a quick study, generous and a great teacher to many.
I am thankful to have known him.
My condolences to the Matthews Family.

My deepest sympathies to the entire Matthews family. I had the good fortune to work under George more than 40 years ago. He led by example and no job was too small for George. He respected everyone, no matter who they were, and I will never for the lessons of work and life he taught me. He was one of the greatest mentors in my life. He is in my prayers and I'm thinking of you all during this difficult time.

My deepest condolences to the Matthews' family. I was privileged to have worked as a consultant with the Registry and to have worked with George and the team at the Registry. His positive impact on higher education will be long lasting.
