GLORIA SAX Obituary
SAX, Gloria Of Swampscott, passed away on March 19, with her family by her side days before her 92nd birthday. Born in Boston in 1933 to loving parents Hyman and Sara Goldman, Gloria grew up in Everett with older brother Paul and younger brother Philip. Gloria graduated from Everett High School in 1951, attended Emerson College, where she studied drama, and was married in 1955. Gloria devoted her life to giving to others, with her family always being her greatest priority. Babysitting for her grandchildren became her life's joy. She was an ardent supporter of numerous charitable organizations, including Hadassah, the Crohn's & Colitis Foundation and her temple. For over 40 years, she was a dedicated volunteer docent at the Peabody Essex Museum, where Gloria also served as a chair of the Annual Antiques Show and contributed her time to the Marketing Department. Gloria was passionate about staying active, enjoying tennis, running and later, walking. She had a love for travel, exploring destinations both near and far. Gloria embraced life to the fullest, always wearing a smile, sharing her generous heart and radiating kindness. Gloria leaves her children, David Sax, Jeff Millar-Sax and his late wife Janine, Leslie Finamore and husband, Eric. She was predeceased by her longtime significant other, Mitchell Comins; and leaves children, Jackie Comins-Addis and husband, Jeff and Amy Josephs and husband, Mitchell. She leaves beloved grandchildren, Zoe, Ari and Evan Finamore, Deidre Zabel and partner, Pete Slater, Jenna Comins-Addis, David, Jordan and Aly Josephs; and two cherished great-grandchildren, Hazel and Delilah Slater. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends. Gloria will be deeply missed by all her knew her. Visiting Hours: Funeral Services at Congregation Shirat Hayam, 55 Atlantic Ave., Swampscott, MA on Friday, March 21, at 11:00am. Interment to follow at Sharon Memorial Park at 1:00pm. Shiva will be held immediately following the interment from 2:30-5:30pm, at NewBridge on the Charles, in the Beal Chapel in the Community Center, 5000 Great Meadow Road, Dedham, MA 02026.
