Jacob Swartz Obituary

SWARTZ, Jacob Former resident of Lowell, MA, entered into rest, November 14, 2010. He leaves his beloved family: two daughters, Selma Swartz Bromberg of Weston and Marilyn Swartz-Lloyd of Boston; his son-in-law, Tony Swartz-Lloyd of Boston; a granddaughter, Sarah Bromberg of Pittsburg and a grandson, Daniel Bromberg of Cambridge; one remaining sister, Edith Marks of New York, many nieces and nephews. He was the husband of the late Edith (Filler) Swartz with whom he was married for seventy years. He was the former owner of Jack's Used Cars and Parts in Lowell. Past president of the New England Wreckers Association. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Long Meadow Golf Club in Lowell, voted unanimously a Life Membership, also known to have won several championships. He held the club's lowest score of 66 for a long time. Jacob's funeral and Shiva will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made in his memory to either: the Jack and Edith Swartz Endowment Fund for the advancement of Nursing Practice at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Office of Development, 330 Brookline Ave, Boston, MA 02215, or Partners Health Care at Home, Office of Development, 281 Winter Street, Waltham, MA 02451. As a former resident of Lowell, I knew "Jack" and had done business with him when he had his car lot on Middlesex St. He was a mild mannered well respected gentleman whom I looked up to. Please accept my condolences on his passing.

Marilyn I'm sorry to here that your Dad passed on. We went to the Charles W Morey School in the 50s . Were in the 4th grade. Miss Sullivan was our teacher.
