Memories of my best friend and my father he was one incredible man. Anyone that knows my dad he had a blood clot on the brain at the age of 39. That changed his life and our families lives forever. The Doctors told him that he won the lottery one in a million lived from this type of injury at the time in 1970 and he survived. They told him he would never walk again that would not stop him. Against all odds in a 4 year period he went from a wheelchair to a walker to walking with a cane and driving a car. You could find my dad along the end boards at our hockey games very rarely did he miss a game. He always supported us no matter what we were doing. If I asked a question to him he always seem to have the answer for me. As time went on I remember him asking me a question about mixing some paint to paint a car. I looked at him strangely and said you taught me how to mix paint. What I learned was my dad always gave me his best advice that he could at that time. Over the years he had many obstacles in his way none of them ever stopped him. His advice to us was never let things you can't control get in your way. That was the secret to what he call the bonus time that was extra 49 years he had with us. In the last three years of his life we had many deep conversations on my daily visits. That time will be truly missed I know you made me the person I have become until we meet again rest in peace.
