Although I only had the pleasure of having James in class for math in fifth grade, what I remember most about him was his smile! He could always make us laugh and cheer his friends up in his own quiet, sweet, and sometimes silly, way. :-) How lucky we were to have had him in our lives, if even only for a short time. He is in my thoughts and prayers, as are the people who will miss him most.

Dear Carlson family, I was Jame's confirmation teacher, that is how I remember him. I know it was so important for him to receive the Sacrement because it was important to his mother. I don't thing he ever missed a class. I pray for your family and that God supports you as does the knowledge that he and his mother are together again.

Lauren and Lenny, I am heartbroken for you, again. There are no words. I think about Maggie all the time, and the way I wish it had been. There is comfort knowing they have each other. Knowing what kind of mother she was, I could never have imagined this for either of them. My deepest condolences, Risa. Wakefield MA.

I remember James as a little spitfire in hockey. He really wanted a stick that was all the rage and Lenny promised he could get it if he scored a goal. James hadn't scored yet in the season but, sure enough, got a goal the next game! He got the stick, too. As his hockey family, we feel this loss very much. Lenny and Lauren, you are in my thoughts and prayers.

I knew James for only four short years as his homeroom teacher and teacher at Reading Memorial High School. I am saddened for all who knew his gentle spirit and and the loss that now we share without James. I wish he could have known and felt all the love and care we have.

The deepest abyss of pain and grief the human spirit can endure, is the death of your child. Although I never knew this handsome young man, just reading about him. I feel your pain as I too lost my son at 24. Please keep the faith and know that one day you will see him again. God is love, something to love, He lends us.
May our Lord give you the strength to get through this, and God Bless you and your family.

I will never forget James. He always made me laugh especially during the Baseball season and when he was hanging out with my son Matthew. He was great kid and always had something good to say. He always said Hello to me when I would go into the P & S Store to play the Lottery. We still have the video of him and Matthew doing the report on Hurricanes from grammar school.
We will miss him very much ! He will never be forgotten!

I have a beautiful glass shamrock from James that I keep on my desk at school. It brings back sweet memories of a beautiful, funny and delightful little first grade boy. I will always cherish it and think of James and his sweet smile. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.
