JAMES CARPENTIER Obituary

CARPENTIER, James Payne 72, of North Andover and formerly of Andover passed away peacefully Sunday morning with his loving wife of 50 years, Betty (Pooles) Carpentier by his side. James was born in Chelsea, MA on Sept. 24, 1943, the son of the late Albert and Marian (Payne) Carpentier. He graduated from Andover High School as well as Bryant and Stratton College. He worked as a Supervisor and Sales Manager at Pepsi Cola Methuen for 40 years until his retirement in 2008. Jim was an avid golfer and baseball fan. He and his wife were members of Indian Ridge Country Club in Andover for 30 years as well as the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, FL and Jim enjoyed many years of umpiring youth and high school baseball in the Merrimack Valley. More than anything, Jim loved watching his grandsons play sports. He spent much of his free time as possible at Relative Row on Lake Winnipesaukee. In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his sons; Jay Carpentier and wife Laurie and their sons James and Michael of Chelmsford, MA and Rob Carpentier and wife Judy and their sons Robbie and CJ of North Andover, MA. He is also survived by his sister Jane, wife of Bill Batchelder of North Andover, MA, sister-in-law Nancy Pearl of Boxford MA, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 PM at the Conte Funeral Home, 28 Florence Street, ANDOVER, MA 01810. A funeral service will be held on Thursday 10 AM at the South Church, Central Street, Andover, MA. Burial will follow in the West Parish Cemetery also in Andover, MA. I miss jimmy since he retired. It wasn't the same Pepsi plant when he left. It was too quiet. He was there when I started and ALWAYS helped me with anything. I was sorry to see he had passed and my condolences are with Miss Betty and the rest of the family

Betty- Lynne & I are so sorry to hear about Jim's passing. We had so many good times grilling hot dogs on the roof of the UNH dugout, trips to Fla-remember we all helped pay for those trips. Our best to you & your family.
