DONOVAN, James J. Of South Boston, passed away on February 5, 2021. Beloved husband of the late Carol (Russo) Donovan. Devoted father of James Donovan and his wife Maureen of Plymouth, Mark Donovan and his wife Carol of South Boston, Kellie Donovan of South Boston, Lynne Lauro and her husband Ricky of Weymouth, Joseph Donovan and his wife Kathleen of South Boston. Loving grandfather of Ryan, Colin, Jake, Rebecca, Kate, and Owen. Brother of the late Marjorie Jones, Patricia Watts and her husband Joseph. Son of the late Henry and Marjorie (Hutchinson) Donovan. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, and his dog, Ronan. Visitation in the O'Brien Funeral Home, 146 Dorchester Street, SOUTH BOSTON, on Wednesday, February 10th, from 8:30-10:30am. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Funeral Mass and Interment private. Mr. Donovan was late member of Local 103 and longtime head coach of the South Boston Town team and Mullens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Mr. Donovan may be made to St. Brigid Church, 841 East Broadway, South Boston, MA 02127. O'Brien Funeral Home
