I want to thank everyone who came to Jim's memorial Mass. Your presence filled me with comfort, love and joy. I know Jim would have felt the same. Bless you all!

I go today to say my last good-byes to a man I hardly knew and a boy I lived to be with. As children and teens we couldn’t wait to be together. We loved being around each other, playing, exploring, competing and sharing our dreams of tomorrow. When we entered a room together we were drawn together as magnets. We were inseparable. I have often thought of those days with fondness. I have always looked forward to the time when we could finally sit quietly and talk about our lives and all that transpired since our youths. Now, I regret not having made that time for I will never know that day. Thank you God for all you have given me, all you have taken from me and for all that is yet to come.

Jim was a friend. I met him at Cambridge Seven as a fellow young to be architect, a local guy from West Roxbury, son of a fireman, with a wild mop of yellow hair and a spirit to match. He worked and played hard and worked more. He drove me in his white EXE Jag to see the first Rocky, and I was with him when we went to a party in the South End where I met my wife. Jim had that look that was always looking for more, the next mountain to climb. He was a very special guy and dear friend and I miss him dearly.
