JAMES MCSWEENEY Obituary

McSWEENEY, James T. "Maxie" Of Holbrook, formerly of South Boston, passed away July 26, 2012, at the age of 82. Beloved husband of the late Joanne (Slattery) McSweeney. Loving father of Michelle McSweeney (McDonnell) of Holbrook, Coleen McSweeney of Abington, Maura Caldwell and her husband Jerry of Quincy, James T. McSweeney, Jr. and his wife Danielle Brook of Franklin, and his beloved daughter, the late Cheryl Ann McSweeney. Dear uncle of Michael McSweeney of Medford. Son of the late Michael and Ellen (Horgan) McSweeney of Ireland. Jimmy's grandchildren were the light of his life; he was the cherished "Papa" of Cheryl Ann and Shannon McDonnell; Kayleigh, Jerry and Megan Caldwell; Ryan and Kyra McSweeney. Devoted brother of Mary McSweeney of Dorchester, and the late John, Paul, Francis, Timothy, and Daniel McSweeney and Catherine (McSweeney) Cicerone. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews. Born in Boston, Jimmy grew up in South Boston and lived in Holbrook for the last 46 years in Holbrook. He was a proud member of the Boston Plasterers and Cement Masons Union #534 of Boston for over 60 years. He was also member of the Fr. Bransfield Council Knights of Columbus of Holbrook, MA. The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to Dr. O'Connor and the staff at Commonwealth Hematology-Oncology in Weymouth, MA. Reposing at the Cartwright Funeral Home, 68 So. Franklin St., (Rte. 37), HOLBROOK until 9:00 AM Monday followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Church, Holbrook. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Burial will take place in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree. Should friends desire memorial contribution may made in his name to the Cam Neely Cancer Foundation, 30 Winter Street, 2nd Floor, Boston, MA 02108. Jimmy was loved by all who met him; his smile and his humor will be greatly missed. We love you Dad and Papa!
