JAMES REPASS Obituary

RePASS, James Sr. Of Leominster, beloved father and husband James RePass, Sr., accomplished journalist, zealous transportation advocate, and beloved husband and father, passed on May 23, 2025, at age 75. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosemary Lyons; and is survived by his son, James RePass, Jr., daughter-in-law, Dr. Maria A.D. RePass; and his brother, Fr. Juvenaly Repass. Born in New Orleans and raised in Connecticut, Mr. RePass had a varied career after graduating from Wesleyan University, from running a racing car garage to working as a reporter for the St. Petersburg Times, following an internship at The Washington Post. He later founded the National Corridors Initiative, an organization dedicated to expanding passenger rail. His advocacy was instrumental in securing funding for Amtrak's Acela line, the first high-speed rail service in the United States. Visiting Hours: August 29, 3PM, Leominster (contact family)
