James Twohig Obituary

92, of Dennis, MA and Hollywood, FL, formerly of Lynn, MA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 9, 2008 at Cape Cod Hospital. Born in Lynn in 1915, he was the son of the late Edward James & Julia Belle Twohig. Survived by his daughter Kathleen Salvi and her husband Walter, his son Kevin Twohig and his wife Joann of Andover, MA, his son Mark Twohig of North Carolina, his stepson Dr. Walter Murphy and his wife Linda of Plymouth, MA, his stepdaughter Ann Malbon and her husband Lee of North Smithfield, RI, eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, and his companion Dorothy Tanco of Dennis, MA. Predeceased by his wife Ruth Twohig, his wife Frances Murphy and his daughter Jane Twohig Perrin. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, February 23, 2008 at 10:00 AM in the St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex St., Andover MA. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Salem State College Athletics, c/o Tim Shea, Salem State College, 352 Lafayette St., Salem, MA 01970. Burial will be private.

Jim Twohig should be remembered as a person that dedicated his life to improve the lives of others. Coach Twohig's dedication to the youth of Lynn, aside form his outstanding achievements as a basketball coach, will forever be remembered by the many students that benefited from his guidance and love.
