ROBINSON, Jane Montgomery 88, of Laconia, NH, died in her sleep at Belknap County Nursing Home on August 23, 2018, with her husband, Nathaniel at her side.
Jane was born in Cohasset, Massachusetts on December 13, 1929 to Julia and Guy Montgomery. Jane's family lived on Elm Street in Hingham, Massachusetts. She graduated from Hingham High school in 1947. As a student there she was a member of The National Thespian Society, Troupe Number 837. Jane acted in, and directed plays as part of her course work.
Jane was also a member of The First Parish Church of Hingham, where she was a soloist for Youth Sunday Services, and was also a member of The Peter Hobart Club.
Jane attended Gorham State Teachers College in Gorham, ME, where she took courses in elementary education.
Jane married Nathaniel Robinson, also from Hingham, on February 8, 1950. They settled in Scituate, Massachusetts and raised five children.
Jane and Nat moved their family to Laconia, NH in 1967. They traveled extensively after their children were grown throughout the U.S and abroad. They eventually landed in Saudi Arabia for a five-year stay, while Nat was on an assignment there in the 1980's.
Returning to New Hampshire in 1985, Jane acquired a job as a receptionist at the JJill Company in Laconia. She retired in 1996.
Jane's passions were reading and music. She loved to play the piano and sing, and for a time was a member of The Sweet Adeline's Barber Shop Quartet.
Jane is survived by Nathaniel, her husband of 68 years, and their five children, Scott Robinson, of Palm Bay, FL, Julia (Greg) Robinson-Hime, of Center Harbor, NH, Deborah (Kevin) Dieffenbach, of Soddy Daisy, TN, Eric Robinson, of Laconia, NH, and Joanna (Stan) Mack, of Pinellas Park, FL, and also by five grandchildren, Alexander Montgomery Rankin, Natalie Joan Parys, Megan Lynn Long, Taylor Robinson Mack, Steven Henry Robinson, and three great grandchildren, Thomas Scott Long, Alfred James and Frances Jane Parys.
The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to the caring nurses and staff of Belknap County Nursing Home where Jane was a resident for several years. Jane was loved by all for her sense of humor and feisty spirit. Services to be announced.
