JEAN ELLIS Obituary

ELLIS, Jean M. (Crothers) 93, of Framingham, died Monday, April 28, 2014. She was the wife of the late Robert H. Ellis and daughter of the late Carleton and Edith (Montgomery) Crothers. Jean was born in Clinton and had been a resident of Framingham since 1955. Jean spent her career as a teacher/ social worker for the Massachusetts Commission for the Blind. After her retirement, she was a ten year volunteer at the Metro-West Medical Center in Framingham. She was a long time active member of the Plymouth Church in Framingham, where her love of gardening and flowers were renowned. While Jean had no children of her own, she was mother to hundreds. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and many dear friends. A Memorial Service will be held at the Plymouth Church, 87 Edgell Road in Framingham on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at 3pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. A collation will follow in the Plymouth Church Hall after the service. There are no funeral home calling hours. Burial will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Eugene J. McCarthy Sons Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln Street, Framingham.
