Jeanne Healy Obituary

HEALY, Jeanne M. (Carson) Died at home in Melrose on Dec. 18. Originally of Scituate, she resided in Quincy, South Weymouth, Hingham and Cohasset. She was 78 years old. Jeanne was the only child of Edward W. Carson, a policeman killed in the line of duty in Scituate in 1938 when Jeanne was 6, and Miriam V. (Slavin). She is survived by her two children with former husband Lamont R. "Monty" Healy, daughter Erin C. Healy and her husband John T. Noyes of Cataumet and son Edward C. Healy of Melrose. Her grandchildren, Dillon R. Healy and Maeve J. Healy, both of Melrose, will especially miss her. She counted her cousin Mary Jean (Rogers) Quinn and Monty's wife, Grace E. Healy, as close friends. Jeanne graduated from Quincy School of Nursing in the early 1950s and worked as a nurse anesthetist at numerous hospitals in Boston, on the South Shore and Cape Cod. In accordance with her wishes her children hosted a 70th birthday party for her instead of a wake. Burial will be private. Donations may be made in Jeanne's honor to the Edward W. Carson Memorial Scholarship Fund, made out to Chief Brian Stewart, Scituate Police Department, 604 Chief Justice Cushing Hwy., Scituate, MA 02066.
