JERROLD WEXLER Obituary

WEXLER, Jerrold Age 92, of Sarasota, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024. Jerry is survived by his wife of 71 years, Joan; his children, Laurie Stolowitz (Alan), Debbie Dombrowski and William Wexler (Lisa); grandchildren, Sam, Nick, Dylan, Anna, Erica, Jonathan and Joanna; 7 great-grandchildren; his niece, Susan; and nephew, Andrew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Etta Wexler; and by his brother, Robert Wexler. Born December 22, 1931, and raised in Brookline and then, Leominster, MA, Jerry attended the Eaglebrook School, Phillips Academy and Yale University. After an initial position on the NYSE, Jerry joined SELIG, the family furniture business, which was a leading manufacturer of contemporary upholstered furniture during the 1960s-1970s. Jerry's design input was seen in textiles and furniture design that the company was known for. He served as President and then member of the board of the National Association of Furniture Manufacturers. Jerry's great loves were his family, skiing, golf, travel and time spent on Cape Cod. His family has wonderful memories of ski and summer vacations together. Jerry and Joan retired to Sarasota, where they enjoyed travel and memorable years together. Services were held on Monday, October 7, at Temple Emanu-El in Sarasota.
