If this is the JoAnne that went to Berkshire school in 1975 - I was a friend of hers. I just returned from a reunion (my first since graduation) and as she was a very important part of that year for me and a special memory since - I looked her up and am devastated to discover she passed. I remember her so completely; the frizzy black hair and eyes, the long trench coat and her loping, bouncing gate...her generous laughter - she was such a superior being and so different from anyone I had ever met. She used to say she was a witch - and I believed it completely ! More so now when I look at her unearthly beauty in the class picture with the half moon face pendant.
She introduced me to a magical world (and David Bowies music)
I regret that she was such a short time with us and but she left quite a spell on me and I will continue to cherish the visions of her she left with me.
