I first met Dr.Seidman in 1973 as a student in Respiratory Therapy.
My career from 1974 to 1991 was spent in Florida. I came back home and had the wonderful opportunity to choose him as my Medical Director at a new start up ventilator sub acute in Milford that I was running. He was such an incredible, kind, intelligent and caring man and physcian. It was an my honor and privilege to work with him. I can only imagine what a wonderful and loving father and grandfather he was. Please accept my sincerest condolences on behalf of myself and the many Respiratory Therapists who had the privilege to learn from him and work with him. He was a true pioneer in establishing the field of Respiratory Therapy. Sincerely,
Phillip Porte

Joel and Bobbi hold a special place in our memory, not only as a generous and loving couple but Joel was always so concerned about the well being of his patients and others who suffered from pulmonary diseases. He will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers to his family.

Dr. Seidman was a great doctor and even better person. As a patient of his as a teenager, I suffered a severe asthma attack at my place of work and when my parents called the dr. office Dr. Seidman happened to be in the same mall (way, way before the internet and smartphones). He located me, with a rescue inhaler, and gave me an on the spot treatment and didn't leave my side until he knew I was much better. Without his help I am not sure how I would have made out. I am forever grateful! Rest in Peace.

Joel was my friend and colleague for 40 years. He was very devoted to his family.
As the Pulmonary/critical care medicine chief at UMass and then Memorial hospitals, he led by example. He was a very intelligent and compassionate physician who trained hundreds of resident physicians, and ran a medical ethics seminar every year.
He faced his terrible disease for over 20 years with courage and dignity.
Karen and I miss him.
Our condolences to his loving family.
RIP
