JOHN BITETTI Obituary

BITETTI, John J. Age 86 of Dorchester, and South Yarmouth, died on December 16, 2021 after a brief cardiac illness.

John was the son of the late Vito and Theresa Bitetti. He was the brother of the late Vito Bitetti and Mary Pasquale. His remaining sister is Theresa Guilfoy of Dorchester. He also had several nephews and nieces. John is survived by his cherished friend Betty Seldin.

John graduated from English High School and U. Mass Amherst and served in the US Army. He enjoyed his career as a communication specialist.

John had a lifelong passion for playing and coaching baseball, culminating in his being inducted into the Boston Park League Baseball Hall of Fame in 1987. Nicknamed "Bazooka John," he gifted everyone he met with pieces of Bazooka Bubblegum!

Arrangements under the direction of Chapman Funerals & Cremations, YARMOUTH. A Celebration of John's Life will be held at a future date.

Memorials in his name can be made to St. Pius Parish, 5 Barbara St., South Yarmouth, MA 02664 or the Cape Cod Baseball League, 449 Bragg Lane
