I knew John when he played baseball in the Astros organization, especially in Cocoa for the '77 season. I was the "clubbie" that year and John was my favorite player. He was always quick with a joke and kept me laughing. He made that season a memorable one for me. The following spring John borrowed my 1970 Chevelle SS many times after the spring workouts to get his shopping and personal things done; he was the only player I trusted with my "baby". I missed not seeing him in future seasons and I'm deeply saddened to learn of his passing. While I haven't seen John in many years, my friends and I talk about him to this day. My sincere condolences to his family, with special condolences to his children. They should know their father was a fun guy to "hang out" with and I miss him even more now.
Warmest regards to his family and friends. Charlie Romeo

Tricia and Bob, I have so many memories of Jackie from growing up. The one that always stands out is the Blizzard of '78. Tricia, you and I truging through the snow trying to get to Appleton Terrace and all of a sudden this huge snowman walking towards us. He swooped us both up and practically carried us the rest of the way. Where he deposited us in your mom's care and a hot bath.
I am sorry I couldn't be there to say good bye to Jackie. May he rest in peace. Love Maureen

Words cannot express how saddened I am to hear about Jacks passing. My heart and prayers go out to all that loved him. When I think about Jack I am going to remember the big heart that he had and not the heart that failed him last week. I am going to remember the cousin I never knew until about 12 who took me under his wing and became the big brother I never had when I needed one the most.
When Jack got released from the Astros he asked his coach if he could wait two weeks to release him because his little cousin was coming to Florida to watch him play(the coach said no). When Jacks whole world and everything he worked for was falling apart he came to my house to tell me to my face that he had been released and how sorry he was that he let me down. I can go on forever about little things like that that he did for me and I am certain that anybody who knew him has as story or two like that. Rest in Peace my friend and God bless you.

Janice,
My memories go back many years to our St. Patrick school days with Jackie, where he was the all star all sports everything guy. I am so thankful that we reconnected in the past few years. While our lives took different paths, I knew I could call him any time and it would be as if we spoke daily.
I am greatful that we had the night at your house when he cooked such an awesome dinner and the 3 of us talked for hours.
After that night, it was very clear that Jackie loved you and his children so very much...I don't believe his spirit will ever leave you.
I will miss that "wise guy" smirk that so often got him into trouble!
It is with deep sadness that I say to you, Jackie, "...and until we meet again, may God hold you in the palm of His hand."
Rest in peace my friend!
Love,
Jane Corrigan
