To the entire Devir family my deepest condolences.
I knew both John & Charlotte & they were two of the nicest & warmest people I ever met. Part of the Greatest Generation this country has ever known. They were best friends of my beloved aunt Barb & uncle Vin.
I always loved seeing them over @ their house.
I was proud when I graduated from WIT (BCS 72) to find out that John & I were fellow alumni as well as fellow Edgeworth residents.
My love goes out to the whole family. A better life never lived !
Sincerely,
Bobby Battistello

We are so very sorry for your loss. We only had the pleasure meeting him one time, it was a hot day and many margaritas were shared, I think of him every time I make that same recipe! All the Devir family are in our thoughts and prayers.

To James, Dan, Ann Mary, and John--Please accept my sincere
condolences on the loss of your father. I knew John and
Charlotte and you all from family parties years ago and also from visits to Molly's cottage at Saquish with family when I was a teenager. (I am Mary Anne Gowen, and I believe we are second cousins. I am related through the Thatcher side of the family.). I am retired from MIT and there was a period of time when John worked there, and I enjoyed seeing him in the halls now and then.
Thinking of you.

We have so many good memories on Saquish and all the gatherings through the years. You are all special to me watching you all grow up and loving every minute being with Charlotte and John. Now they are together again and may God bless them and you and may you have peace knowing he is with the Lord. Love you and miss you,

My parents often mentioned the warmth and generosity that John and Charlotte and the whole Devir clan extended to them years ago on their one visit; they always remembered it. I hope all four of them are at rest together. So sorry for your loss.
Rest easy

So sad that John has left this earth but I know that he is always with you. Such a kind and generous spirit. May the Angels lead him to paradise. Love you all.
