Remember John well both as an athlete and a person of humor as I was a few years behind his class. A true "Spy Ponder".

May God rest your soul John. I grew up admiring him then I was at my DiSessa relatives home across from the Junior High East!

Dear Hanley family please accept my condolences.
Coach Hanley was a huge part of Arlington High School and a true legend in our community. He wasn't just a football coach-he coached many sports and was an amazing teacher too. As a football player, I spent countless hours on the field with him and remember his consistency and passion for the game. His love of coaching and dedication to his students were truly inspiring. Coach Hanley's impact on all of us is immeasurable, and he´ll be deeply missed but always remembered.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Coach Hanley. I enjoyed playing football for him. His service to Arlington is an amazing achievement. He was a dedicated family man and husband. Like my dad, I firmly believe that all coaches go to heaven. RIP. Jim Lavery

Dear Hanley Family.
John was a wonderful man who loved sports and knew the value playing sports contributed to a persons character. I played under Coach Hanley 1970-1972 seasons and he was one of the most genuine people /coach I ever met playing football at AHS and in college at Tufts University. As former
quarterback he knew the game better than anyone.
I do not think anyone contributed more to Arlington High School Football in the history of the sport than Coach John Hanley. You are a Hall of Famer as a man and a coach, thank you for the pleasure to have played for you and Ike Bevins

I can't fathom a loss this bad. He was a leader of men and a hell of a nice guy. To those that might have something negative to say about him I don't agree he is precious in my eyes. That is the way I feel. Rest In Peace John!

Coach Hanley was a great human and a mentor to generations of young men and women of Arlington. I have so many fond memories of him as my football coach, teacher and the father of the Hanley children who I spent so much time with growing up. Coach Hanley's legacy as a true Arlington hero will last forever and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his family during this difficult time.

Mrs Hanley and Family
Our prayers are with you all during this most difficult time . Coach was the best ! As one of thousands of people he impacted , whether in the Gym, Court or on the field , I can honestly say I am a product of his time and teaching. I was blessed to have him as a teacher , a coach in two sports and be one his assistants. He was a mentor , freind and tremendous role model not only as Coach , Husband and Father , but a man as well . I will be forever grateful to Coach , and will never forget him .
Love
Steve , Janet Allosso and Family
