I only just learned of Jack's passing. I worked with him for several years at Children and Youth and he was by far one of my most favorite pediatricians to work with. His knowledge and humor were infectious. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

I met Jack close to 30 years ago when I was not too long out of residency. Jack took me, and many others before and after, under his wing and taught us how to care for children. We became friends as well as colleagues over the years with Jack always willing to give support, lend a hand, offer a compassionate ear and good advice...always without hesitation. We lost a tireless advocate for children and families, a wonderful teacher and mentor who was unbowed in adversity, generous in spirit, a gentleman and a good man. I will never forget him.

My son, Tristan, and I loved Dr. McNamara. I trusted him completely with the care of my son. The very first time I met him, he was covering for my son's doctor at the office. My son was having a severe allergic reaction, and Dr. McNamara took control of the situation with such care and knowledge. I don't even remember the name of my son's other pediatrician. He called my son Champ and I very proudly gave a picture of my son with a straw hat on to hang in his office with the other pictures of children. As Tristan grew older we came less frequently, and then we lost touch. Tristan and I remember him fondly and still talk about him. I will always be profoundly grateful for the care, concern and intelligence with which he showed my son.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr Jack at Kids First on the weekends for many years. And I enjoyed his professionalism everytime he was there. He was a great man,and will be missed. He talked about you girls all the time, and spending time down the Cape with all his grandchildren. And also having to get home for "supper" that his wife was cooking him on the weekends! He loved you all dearly- Rest In Peace Dr Jack

Dear jack,

I will always remember you. I know you are at peace now and with god. I am so sorry for your family. You were my first employer as a new np. You helped shape me and taught me a great deal. We had an incredible group of folks to work with - family in its own right. Thank you for being who you were and how you touched each and everyone on of us in your own special way. I will miss you. And will pray for you and your family
