JOHN PITMAN Obituary
49, of Beverly, February 19th. Beloved husband of Kathleen (McBrien) Pitman. Cherished father of Hannah and Molly Pitman of Beverly. Loving son of Anne (DiGregorio) Pitman and the late Frank Pitman. Dear brother of Robert and wife Irene of Peabody, William and his wife Shirley of Beverly, the late Frank and his wife Suzanne of Beverly, Carol Burnham and husband Richard of Beverly, Ginny McCarthy and husband Sean of Beverly, Anne Stump and husband Paul of Topsfield and Brenda Modugno and husband James of Beverly. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be celebrated in St. John the Evangelist Church, 111 New Balch St. Beverly, on Saturday, Feb. 23rd at 10 AM . Relatives and friends invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held Friday, from 4pm to 7pm in the Campbell-Lee, Moody, Russell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot St. North Beverly location. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his name can be made to the Dana Farber Cancer Institute, for Ocular Melanoma Research, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284. I had the pleasure of meeting John through Beverly softball. We both coached our daughters teams. He was always a competitive guy, who seemed very patient with his kids, and always had a smile on his face before and after games, win or lose. Rest in Peace.

Hannah, Molly and the Pitman family,
You are in our thoughts and prayers. Your tributes to your dad were eloquent evidence of a life well-lived. I often wondered what gives one the strength to speak as you did under those circumstances. John was one of the nicest people I've ever known. A truly kind,sincere,and friendly gentleman. So sad to hear of his passing. My sincere condolences to his family.
