JOHN J. "JACK" THOMAS

THOMAS, John J. "Jack" Of Allston, passed away on December 25, 2021, at age 85. Son of the late Margaret G. (Driscoll) and Joseph J. Thomas. Father of Scott Thomas of Brighton, and the late David M. Thomas and his surviving wife Rosemary. Brother of Charles Thomas and his wife Helen, Ronald Thomas and his wife Patricia, Edward Thomas and his late wife Sara, Michael Thomas and his partner Denise Capozzoli, Richard Thomas, Paul Thomas, and the late Joseph Thomas and his surviving wife Lorraine. Grandfather of Matthew, Samantha, Stephen and Emma. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Jack played football at Boston English High School. He possessed a sports intellect next to none complemented by his aptitude for all sports he played. He was a coach to his sons, brothers, friends and anyone who had the privilege of listening to him elaborate on sports or games. He was a United States Air Force Korean War Veteran earning a National Defense Service Medal as Radio Operator and B-52 Bomber Refueler supporting Strategic Air Command (SAC) missions. He played and hit over 300 for USAF baseball team while enlisted. A Graveside Service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, 20 Connery Avenue, in Bourne, in Spring of 2022.
