JOSEPH CELLUCCI Obituary

CELLUCCI, Joseph V. Formerly of Brighton, a long time resident of Weymouth, passed away June 23, 2012 at the age of 80, surrounded by his loving family whose comforting hands helped guide him from his earthly presence. Beloved husband of the late Ruth M. (Sharland) Cellucci. Devoted father of Debora Gill and her husband Shawn of Plymouth, Diane Flaherty and her husband Larry of Norton, and James Cellucci and his wife Lori of Bridgewater. Cherished "Papa" of Shannon Gill, Danielle Serode and her husband Jimmy, and Devin Flaherty. Loving companion of Lois Hakins of Bellingham. Beloved brother of Geraldine Cellucci of FL, Anthony Cellucci of Sudbury, and the late Dominic, Louie, James, and Mary. Dear friend and cousin of Danny Cellucci of CT. Also survived by many nieces and nephews as well as devoted friends. Joe graduated from the Boston Trade School and became a licensed steam fitter who's career eventually brought him to work at General Dynamics at the Quincy Shipyard as a Pipefitter Foreman. Joe was also a hard working, self-employed small businessman. He proudly served his country along with many other brave men and women in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Joe enjoyed music, cooking, cribbage, bocce, and spending winters in Florida. He was an active parishioner at St. Albert's Church, where he and Ruth were past members of the Mr. & Mrs. Club. Joe's greatest gift during his lifetime was to be a loving husband and father to his devoted family members and friends who became a part of his extended family. Joe was always there for everyone who needed tender loving care and comfort, giving of himself unselfishly and untiringly. He will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Thursday 4-8 PM, in the McDonald Funeral Home, SOUTH WEYMOUTH, at 809 Main Street, (Rte 18 opp. So. Shore Hosp.) Relatives and friends will gather in the funeral home at 9 AM on Friday prior to the Funeral Mass in St. Albert the Great Church, Weymouth, at 10 AM. Burial in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Weymouth.
