Mr. DeRosa,
Sir, I would just like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for our Country when you served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. And to your family and loved ones, I wish to extend my deepest sympathy.

Dad,
I'll miss the laughs, advice, support, the love, the example. You were a hardworking kid, who rose against the odds to set an example for us to meet. You kept the bar high but cheered us on at every step. You instilled a powerful work ethic and a drive for excellence in us, and I think it is that for which I am most grateful. I hope to do the same with my son.
Dad, I may miss the laughs the most--no matter what you had on your plate to deal with, you never complained; never, ever felt the need to play for sympathy. You always had a smile and some clever, witty comment. We had a lot of laughs and it will never be the same, but thank you for all the time we had.
You did a great job, the best.
Love,
Lauren

Dearest Maria and Family,
Maria, I did not meet Joe but came to know him through your writings. I learned how dedicated he was to you and his family, how loving he was and the humor he shared. From the quips and quotes you have shared..I can tell how wonderful a man he was.
May God hold you through this time of need and forever after. May the empty space you feel in your hearts soon be filled with all the loving memories of his time with you.
Your cyber Sista, Tami

We were classmates at the Joseph H. Barnes School in East Boston. He was a bright kid. I am submitting a photo taken in 1946, when we were members of Miss Hiltz's 7th grade class.
