to the family of Joe Lee III, i am so sorry for your loss. altho we didnt see each other often, as children we cousins often stayed at his home on beacon hill and learned to sail on the Charles river with his dad. we celebrated birthdays together and i have many memories of those times. i met some of joes children at a reunion in 2002 in ct. it was nice to catch up on all the family news with Joe. i pray he is with all our family and friends who have gone before to be with our Lord.

As the wipe away the rears in my eyes, I start to remember many of the cherished childhood memories. In 1976, the Tall Ships parade, the Lee's and the Prosser's rafted the boats together and we had a great time. I smile or laugh every time I think of that 4th of July weekend. Joe thanks for the memories. Joe you will be joining my beloved father (Popa John) John, my beloved brother (Uncle Karl) Karl, sailing the heavenly seas. Sail on sailor, you will be missed, never forgotten, thanks for the memories.
To my Irish kin, if you ever need to talk with someone feel free to call me, I am here for you. Your cuz with Love!

As a young boy I sailed with Joe and my dad (John Prosser - Joe's cousin) on his schooner from Boston to Provincetown and back. When we got back to Boston (very late) we stayed in Joe's apartment {I think) on Beacon Hill. It was the first experience in adapting my sea legs to the relative stability of land. It was also the first time in my life I had been awoken by the squealing wheels of street trolleys in the night. Dad said he and Joe learned to sail together in Weymouth when they were kids. The family sailing tradition was carried on by my brother Karl and now lives on in my memories of Joe, Dad and Karl. Though Joe is now gone memories of him are still with me. My sincerest condolences to all of you - my extended Irish kin.
