We were shocked and saddened to hear of Jo's sudden passing. She was an important and valued member of our Hillview Golf League. Her ever present positive attitude, humor and laughter will be sorely missed.
May Jo inspire us to be the kind of caring and compassionate friend we all came to know and love through her presence in our lives. Rest in peace my friend.

We only knew Jo from Naples, Florida but when she was there she was always smiling and pleasant to everyone around! It was a pleasure to play golf with her and I'm happy I got a chance to see her in July at our golf reunion. She will be missed by many people and especially her family. She always said she didn't want to spend the whole winter in Florida because she would miss her family too much. Our sympathy to her family. Bonnie and Joe Lamando

I am so very sad to hear of Jo's death. I cherished the times I got to play with her at Hillview. Jo made it seem like everything was possible. Her encouragement guaranteed a most pleasant round of golf. She had the funkiest swing but her short game was awesome. It was great to be one of the girls in her eyes. I will miss her integrity, enthusiasm and positive attitude. God bless Jo!

Memories of Jo:
Those of us who played golf with Jo will always remember her words of encouragement: “nicely done!” and “with Authority!” You never played a round of golf with her without hearing these two phrases. I suggest we pass this on!
She never had a bad word to say about anybody – and if someone started to say something negative about another person, Jo would quietly submit her “positive” statement about that person, and everyone was reminded that if you didn't have anything good to say, then keep quiet!
Her highest compliment was to say: “she's a real lady – I mean that honest and truly, a Real Lady!” And she made you want to strive to behave in such a way that she would say this to others about you!!
She was proudest of her family. They may not realize this, but she never referred to you without saying “My Bob”, or “My Bobby”, or “My Ginny”. She loved you dearly.
It was delightful to see the glow on her face and the gleam in her eye whenever she told stories about her grandchildren. She was so very proud of you all.
My husband and I had the privilege of filling in some vacant slots in the Romeo family's annual golf outing one year. The high esteem in which Jo was held was evident as family and friends flocked around to get a hug and kiss from Jo. It was a privilege to witness the genuine love and affection they showered upon her.
I will be forever grateful for having known Jo. I was going to skip my high school class reunion a few years ago. She admonished me severely: “Don't ever say ‘No' to an invitation. Life is short – you should take advantage of every opportunity you get!” And so I went - and rekindled many friendships which had slipped away through many years of travel and neglect. Thanks for the great advice, Jo - I'll remember it, and you, always.

Im very sorry to hear about Jo passing away. I enjoyed many rounds with her on the golf course at Sagamore. May she see greener fairways, smoother greens and hit longer drives, where ever she is now. My thoughts are with her family this holiday season.
