KEITH JENKINS Obituary

Jenkins, Keith Derek
Of North Andover passed away suddenly on September 30, 2012. Keith is survived by his mother Jane Kilgore Jenkins, his father Kenneth Jenkins, three brothers Kenneth Jr., Kevin and Kristofer Jenkins, his grandmother Charlotte Cushman Kilgore and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Keith was pre-deceased by his two grandfathers, Charles M. Kilgore and Frank A. Jenkins as well as his grandmother Laverne Avant Jenkins. Keith is a graduate of North Andover High School class 2007, North Shore Community College, Danvers, and was currently attending UMASS Lowell where he was continuing his studies to become a physical therapist. Keith had worked at the Loft Restaurant in North Andover for the past seven years. Keith loved his family and friends and spent every summer since birth in Ocean Park, Maine where he was happiest. Keith was known to skim board in the ocean for hours at a time. His love of music drew him to numerous concerts with friends and family, which led him to learn to play the guitar. Keith also loved playing basketball recreationally with friends and sometimes just "chillin." Keith's wonderful attitude, persona, smile and whit will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to know him, most specifically his family. Because of Keith's passionate support of KC's Dream Team, donations may be made in Keith's name and memory to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation at https://www.cff.org/GetInvolved/ManyWaysToGive/Donate/. Friends and family may call on Thursday, October 4 from 4pm - 7pm at the Conte Funeral Home located at 17 3rd Street North Andover, MA 01845. My deepest condolences to the Jenkins family. It certainly does not get any easier with time. We just do the best that we can to get by, but the heartbreak and pain never subsides. Remember all the good memories. RIP Keith.

The Nelson and Cole Families feel horrible about what has happened. Keith was a ray of sunshine at the beach, entertaining us with his amazing skill on the skim board and always speaking to my 87-year-old mother, asking her the temperature of the water and making conversation. He loved Ocean Park and Ocean Park loved him. My heart is breaking. Stephanie Nelson, further up Winona Ave.

Ken and Jane,
Kenzie and I are so sorry for your loss. We too lost our 23 year old daughter to an auto mishap, and know the pain and shock you are suffering. Please know that it does become more tolerable as time passes, but you will never be the same. Ocean Park has lost a special guy.

Dearest Ken, Jane, Kenny, Kevin and Kris,
My heart is breaking for you all during this terrible time of loss. You are not alone. I know that you are probably all in shock and will be for some time. When we lost my niece Jody 13 years ago, I was in a fog for months and can only explain it as ethereal. Please know that you, as well as the many other friends and family members who are deeply affected by Keith's passing, are all in my thoughts and prayers. I know he was loved by many, and especially his friends from Ocean Park. He was taken far too soon, but I know you are proud of the short life he lived. HUGS xoxoxo

Dear Jane, Ken, Kenny, Kevin and Kristofer, we love you all so much, and we are just heartboken about your dear Keithy. I have such a sweet memory of him at your house last time, his beautiful soul right out front, so generous with his smile, that yes, as someone said, had such a fun and mischievious glow at times, too, when he wanted. I love that he took such joy in sand boarding...:) That smile will glow and comfort me in my heart always. We are sending you all our love and prayers, and hugs, for whatever comfort they may bring. We love you and miss you all...Mal, Deb, and Jesse

Jane, Kenny and family,
Our deepest and most sincere condolences to your entire family. We always enjoyed Keith's visits to the Walker picnic table. Always smiling. When we found out about his passing...my mind immediately thought of him this past summer... skim boarding for what seemed to be at least an hour. He was in his own world, completely at peace. Our hearts ache for your family.
