Ken was a great friend. I think of him often. I miss our monthly breakfast together. The BPS lost the best of the best with his passing. Rest in peace, my dear friend. Until we meet again.

I had the great privilege of working with Ken in the Boston Public Schools when he served as chief of staff. He was a model public servant, always courteous and kind, with an unwavering commitment to our students and staff, and with deep respect for the history of our schools and city. Years after he retired, I would still reach out to Ken for answers to obscure BPS-related questions that came my way. He always knew the answer. This brings my condolences to the Caldwell family for their loss.

Tom and I were sorry to learn of Ken's passing. Ken was Tom's right hand when we moved to Boston for Tom to become Superintendent of BPS. A long friendship ensued. We were friends of Ken and Marilyn and send loving thoughts and prayers to the family during this difficult time.

The death of a parent is never easy. But it is the final stage in our passage into adulthood since we are no longer that person's child. What is does leave us with is memories, and the opportunities to create memories that can nurture our children thru our own passing. My sincerest sympathies to your family.
