I was a client of August and Simmons for many years. First with Tom and after his death with Kenny. I just found out of his passing and I wish to express my sincere sorrow to his family.
He was an exceptional lawyer and a dear friend. He was a lawyer but also a friend and a great advisor. Lawyers like Kenny do not exist any more. He was more interested in being a confident and consultant than being a impersonal employee or advisor.
I feel your loss and am at a loss to find anyone who can take his place.

Dear Carolyn and family.
I was shocked and saddened to learn today of Kenny's passing in a conversation with Joanne at the office. I'm not sure you know me or my wife by name we are Bill and Jacque Lally. Most recently we would see you and Ken when we made our annual visit for taxes in Arlington. That said I have known Ken for over 40 years since the time that I practiced law in Cambridge and was in frequent contact with him and Tom August. While I left Cambridge about 20 years ago I have kept in contact with him for both personal and business reasons and most recently for our taxes for the last 10 or 15 years. While we all hate taxes we always enjoyed our evening together with Ken when he prepared them for us every year. While I'm sure there are many words to describe him as a person four come to mind for me immediately... and they are honorable,compassionate ,professional and sincere.Please accept our heartfelt sympathy at his truly untimely departure.

The death of Kenny will leave a vast space in many peoples lives. He was the last of the Old School lawyers. He was not only a fine attorney but a part of the family of Cambridge, Mass. Going to him for any advice was like sitting down with your best friend.

I was saddened to read of Kenny's passing. During my sojourn in Cambridge and Boston, I had the opportunity to interface with him several times in district and council activities in the Boy Scouts. He was always a gracious influence, my idea of a Scouter's Scouter.

Shocked ! What a great man, with such a lovely family. He served our country. Stood up for our Country ! Raised , along with his beautiful dedicated wife, Carolyn, a fabulous group of children. I will miss him ,dearly. His motivational , friendly ,heart warming conversations , at all Touchdown Club Meetings are something I will never forget.

We were absolutely shattered to receive the news of Sim's passing,and our heartfelt sorrow goes out to Carolyn and all of the Simmons family. As the parents of Katie, the wife of Sim and Carolyn's son Kenny, we share everyone's grief. We were so happy when Katie married Kenny but soon realized that Katie had found much more than our special son-in-law Kenny; she also became part of an exceptionally close knit and loving family. We too cared for Sim and nothing gave us more pleasure than to see Sim with our daughter, our grandchildren, and the entire Simmons clan.
With his widespread, nonstop involvement in so many aspects of the Arlington community, it is not surprising that the church and funeral home were overwhelmed with people wanting to pay their respects. We so admired him and the wonderful example he set. He was a loving grandfather and father-in-law whose involvement and support of his family and grandchildren was total and never wavered.
Our thoughts and prayers are with all of the Simmons family as they go through such a difficult grieving period; but hopefully it is of some comfort to know we too loved, admired, and respected this wonderful, gentle man.

I was sorry to hear about Kenny. He was the best man at my mother's wedding. Her name was Mary Sico and her husband was Anthony sico.

It was so sad to hear about the loss of Kenny. There were a lot of great memories over the last 60 years with Kenny. I first met Kenny when he ran the Dining Room at the Boy Scout Camp in NH. Then we crossed paths after the Tet offensive in Nha Trang in 1968 at a camp of the 5th SFG. The last 40 years I have practice in Cambridge. He was always there for my real estate passings or help me understand a point of Law. From the first time I met him in the 50's to the last time I met with him a few weeks ago, he was always there to help. Please accept my sympathy and condonlences.

I grew up in the Roberts Rd. neighborhood of Cambridge and have known Kenny for more than 50 years. I graduated from Boston College a year after Kenny. I will always remember the conversations we had a Pete's Variety Store on the corner of Magnolia Ave and Roberts Rd. Kenny gave me good advice then as he did for my family for the next several years. My husband, me and our sons, Joseph and Mark have sad hearts today as we have heard of Ken leaving us. I met Kenny when I worked for the law firm of Charles Kezer in Malden. He was representing an estate sale and we were purchasing property in Cambridge over 40 years ago. Ken was wonderful person, always smiling when he met someone. We will miss him greatly. I got to know Kenny during the Cambridge/Boston Boy Scout Council Merger and worked with him since. He was a wonderful example of friendship, leadership and upbeat positivism. As a Distinguished Eagle Scout, he clearly showed what a Scout and an Eagle Scout should be. I will miss Kenny.
